No Uniforms at SFMS

My position statement is students should not be required to wear collared shirts at SFMS. I say this because for one reason, it’s really not even considered a uniform. Uniforms is when everyone involved in something wears the same exact clothing. Then at this school, they consider collared shirts a uniform. Mostly all students wear sweaters with different colors, and no one dresses the same here at SFMS.

Also, students do not get to express what they are. The uniforms are basically hiding who they are or in other words hiding their personality. What I mean by hiding their personality is that when they wear uniforms, they look boring and dull. It might also make them angry at the fact that they have to almost dress the same everyday that they just might not care about school anymore. Somehow it leads to getting in trouble. They might get so mad and then just take it off when supervisors aren’t looking. They get caught, and then their in trouble.

For parents too, it may cost alot more than usual for clothing. They already have to buy them clothes that don’t include collared shirts. Then they have to buy extra collared shirts for all their kids that go to SFMS.  Plus, undershirts that parents need to buy for kids. Kids at SFMS for some reason like to wear undershirts under their uniform. It may be because they want to take it off afterschool or even at school to be sneaky. So there’s no need to have uniforms at SFMS and make parents spend more on children.

Although, there might be some reasonable reasons why kids should wear uniforms to school. Some research shows that children perform better when they have uniforms on. That may be true, but obviously it doesn’t work at SFMS.

All of this shows exactly why there should be no unifoms at SFMS. It makes the school suck and makes kids dislike the school. They also can’t wait to get out of the school. SFMS would be a better school  without uniforms. Hopefully it won’t be like this forever.
